For the 7th year running, we are organizing a summer serve to Ethiopia to work with our local friends & colleagues in Bahir Dar on various efforts to help uplift the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community, and you are invited!

Sign language proficiency (either ASL or EthSL) is certainly helpful, but not a requirement (ችግር የለም - no problem!). We always have several local professional interpreters with us, and the environment is always one in which all people are welcome no matter your background or abilities.

While having an educational or professional background in a related field (such as Interpreting, Deaf Education, Early Childhood Education, Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, Community Development, etc.) is also helpful, everyone is welcome and can contribute in a meaningful way to our ongoing efforts! We will work individually with each volunteer both ahead of time and on the ground to make a plan for you that is both meaningful and productive for you & the local community.

Volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities are welcome. For any minors, we simply ask that they are either accompanied by a guardian, or that a prior discussion and subsequent necessary arrangements can be made if not accompanied by a guardian.
