Enable a Young Scholar in India to Realize Their University Dreams & Change the Course of Their Life!

For many youth from rural, impoverished, and low caste communities, the dream of pursuing higher education feels unattainable. To be female on top of that adds a whole new level of socio-cultural stressors. However, it is exactly those young women who are able to move forward in their education and obtain a degree and/or professional training who have the greatest potential for breaking the cycle of poverty in their communities.

Building off the success of our Visions India University Scholars Initiative over the past 6+ years, a new cohort of young women and a few young men have been selected to receive a Visions scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. These young women all hail from disadvantaged, and mostly rural dalit, communities throughout south India.

Currently, we have 62 enrolled scholars for the 2022-2023 academic year, and we have had 30 graduates of this initiative to-date. Our Visions India team works with each graduate to ensure they find employment and can earn a living wage.

Through this initiative, each selected student receives financial support to pay her university fees & related expenses, benefits from regular mentorship & counseling, participates in regular leadership development & English trainings, and more.
