TAMARA LAFARGA

Philanthropist, entrepreneur, international health/fitness presenter, real estate investor, artist, nature aficionado, wife, mother and grandmother. Tamara channels her boundless energy and diverse skills in myriad different ventures. 

Tamara founded CLJ Designs, built a health and fitness club, was involved in international marketing in Asia, owned Alzheimer facilities, has a real estate investment career and taught health/nutrition in Mexico and Guatemala. Tamara has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, graduate work at University of Wisconsin, UNLV and a UCSD certificate in Gerontological Counseling.

Tamara currently serves as Board chair for Visions Global Empowerment. She has also served as board chair for The Foundation for Women. Today, Tamara continues to sit on the board of Country Friends, Vision of Children, The San Diego Scholarship Committee and WellWomen  

Tamara was a board member of Miracle Babies and founding member. In past years she was the gala chair for the Art of Fashion, Miracle Babies, Moore’s Cancer Center, St Germaine’s and several other organizations. Additionally, she supports: The Salvation Army, The Rancho Santa Fe Humane Society, Thrive, Ronald McDonald House, Mt. Soledad Organization and numerous others. She has received numerous accolades over the years, including:

  • In 2019 Tamara received the prestigious Women of Dedication award from the Salvation Army. The same year she was featured in the UCSD book She Who Inspires as well as numerous magazines related to philanthropy.

  • In 2019 she was a UN delegate from California and was chosen to attend the 2020 UN Conference in NYC.

  • In 2018 Tamara was a Non-Profit Visionary finalist for San Diego.

  • In 2017 she was the Celebrating Women recipient and the Honorary Chair for Miracle Babies

Her hobbies include art, dance and time in nature. Tamara, her daughter & her granddaughter have all danced competitively & believe that dancing brings joy to the heart.

In addition to her family, her true passion is to alleviate the pain and suffering of all living beings. The education and empowerment of women and girls is close to her heart. She feels it is her responsibility, blessing and privilege to help those in need.
